A member of the BBOG campaign group, Bukky Sonibare, says it is expected that the government puts in place a system to ensure the immediate rehabilitation of the 82 Chibok school girls who were freed from Boko Haram captivity on Saturday.
She also advised the government that Nigerians need to be adequately informed on what is being done through out the entire process.
“Nigerians needs to know what is going on, the whole security concerns, security details and all of that – Yes we understand the need not to jeopardize sensitive security information but you want to do that to the extent that it doesn’t indeed cause havoc to any ongoing process.
“That does not preclude that there is need for information.”
According to her, information such as where the girls are, and what processes are currently on ground to re-integrate them, are essentially what Nigerians want to know.
“We are not asking that you tell us the address, but people want to know what is going on.
“If they are taking three months, for example, going through some security briefing, after that do they go through some healthcare and some psycho-social support? If they are doing that, what goes into that – what outcome – what result do we expect from that? After that, what next? Are we talking about schooling for them,? She questioned.
“We need to talk about their re-integration, their re socialization, their rehabilitation. Those three are now really important because it is one thing for them to come back and another thing for us to ensure that there is already a system in place that they plug into immediately and we don’t have to wait for so long.” Sonibare stressed.
