The Delta State Government has flagged off the 6th annual sports festival at the main bowl of the Ozoro Polytechnic Stadium, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.
Athletes from the 25 Local Government Area in the state will feature during the seven day event.
The State Commissioner for Information, Patrick Ukah, said apart from discovering new talents, the competition is an avenue for bonding among the LGA’s.
“Delta is known for bringing up talents from grassroots but also its an opportunity for bonding and you know when you bring youths from all over the state it leads to unity and the competition is tagged unity games,” Ukah said.
The athletes also expressed optimism and enthusiasm in the upcoming games, promising to do their best to win medals.
