Manchester United survived a tough fightback from Celta Vigo on Thursday to secure a spot in the Europa League final.
Marouane Fellaini set United on the lead with his 17th-minute goal, while Facundo Roncaglia levelled the score for resilient Celta five minutes to full time at Old Trafford.
Despite playing 1-1, the Spanish side could not qualify for the next round as a result of a goal deficit in the first leg.
Jose Mourinho’s side, however, proceeded to the final 2-1 on aggregate where they face Ajax who also beat Olympique Lyonnais 5-4 on aggregate.
Lyon were defeated 4-1 in the first leg at Amsterdam Arena before they consequently beat their visitors 3-1 on Thursday in France.
The Europa League final will take place on Wednesday, May 24 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden’s capital.
