Police Parade Couple For Allegedly Selling Their Biological Child In Cross River

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested and paraded a couple for allegedly selling their biological child, Miss Favor Sunday Udoh at the rate of 400 thousand Naira.
The couple identified as Mr. George Sunday Udoh and Mrs. Victoria Favour Sunday Udoh sold their child at Ikom Local Government Area of the state, before being intercepted.
Also, arrested and paraded by the command is a security man who defiled an eleven-year-old minor in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital.
Commissioner for Police, CP Hafiz Inuwa while briefing newsmen at the State CID in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital disclosed that, a total number of 30 suspects are presently at the command for other offences ranging from murder, impersonation, armed robbery and kidnapping involving a dismissed police corporal among other degree of crimes.
They are to be remanded in police custody pending their hearing and prosecution by the Law.
The CP disclosed that, the command will not spare any criminal in the state used the medium to warn criminals and intending ones of the dangers they will face when caught.
Meanwhile a constitutional lawyer and notary public, Barrister Leonard Anyogo insists on an attitudinal change on the way issues of crimes especially defilement are handled by the society.
The defence of consent will not arise because she is incapable of giving her consent in law. Sadly enough, we had had cases of defilement on the increase, the incessant rate is so sickening, but we have not had convictions, the parents of these children are restricted by cultural and religious inhibitions. It is high time we got to have this convictions, he said.”
The eleven-year-old case according to him, is one too many to be taken with levity.
