The wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has met with the 82 freed Chibok Girls and assured them of the Federal Government’s commitment to the rescue of those still in Boko Haram captivity.
According to her, the release of the girls on Saturday, after over three years in captivity, is an act of God.
She said this on Wednesday when she visited the facilities of the Department of State Security in Abuja where the girls are being kept.
Mrs Buhari, who visited the girls in company with the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, and other officials assured them that government will take care of them until they are reunited with their families.
She said, “I think you people are here because of the strong prayers that we have prayed together with your parents.
“When you were away, I met with your parents severally. We shared their sorrows; we cried together and we prayed together.
“As a result of that, I strongly believe that God answered our prayers by getting you people back to us. And I believe very strongly that soon, the remaining girls will be released by the grace of God.”
She thanked all the agencies involved in the negotiations for the release of the girls.
