Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has called on his teammates to be careful when they take on city rival Atletico in Wednesday’s Champions League clash.
Ramos who appeared in the club’s press room the day before the team try to seal their place in the Champions League final, laid out the key to winning the game.
“I’d like to send a message before going out on to the field. You have to go out with very clear ideas, in football anything can happen. We have to give everything and leave our souls out on the field.
“You have to give everything, maintain high level of concentration and believe in ourselves. The key to success is unity and teamwork, it’s what we’re doing. We must not think about the result from the first leg, just go out to win,” he said.
Cristiano Ronaldo had proved himself to be the man for the big occasion at Santiago Bernabeu when he gave Real a powerful 3-0 advantage against Atletico.
Ramos, 31, however noted that though the team had a great result, they must give their best to ensure they get through to the finals of the biggest club football competition in Europe.
“I don’t know what the fans are feeling. I experienced a great atmosphere at the Bernabeu in the first leg and that’s what I can talk about. They took us flying along with them.
“We go there to play football and I’ll not get into controversial messages or anything. We have a great result behind us, but we’re going to give everything. We’ll not go out to defend the result,” he said.
