Start With Insurgency, Yobe Residents Task Buhari

Channels Tv
The people of Yobe State, north east Nigeria, have been reacting to the emergence of General Muhammadu Buhari as the President-elect of the country on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

After tackling the Boko Haram insurgency, the President-elect, they say, should provide the youth with gainful employment, which would go a long way in tackling youth restiveness, not just in the zone but the country at large.

According to them, Yobe State and the north-east in general are educationally backward, compared to other zones of the country.
They called on the President-elect to work towards the provision of the free education he has promised during his electioneering campaign.
They also decried the neglect of the Kano-Maiduguri road dualisation project which construction they claimed had been moving at a snail speed since its award by the Obasanjo administration.

The road, according to them, if completed would go a long way in the movement of people, goods and services within the North east states of the country.
