Shooting incident on US Capitol Hill

BBC News
Police in Washington DC say a shooter who fired at the US Capitol died of self-inflicted injuries.
The district was locked down for nearly two hours before the individual was "neutralized", police said.
Police were also investigating a suspicious package found on the lower west terrace of the Capitol building.
Congress is not in session, so there were few lawmakers about, but the annual Cherry Blossom festival attracted tourists.
"Confirmed: self-inflicted gunshot by neutralized subject," Capital Police spokeswoman Kimberly Schneider said in a statement.
Police were quoted as saying there was no evidence of terrorist intent.
