PDP maintains clear lead in Cross River

Results from 16 out of 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River State released by the Independent National Electoral Commission show that the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Prof. Ben Ayade, is leading clearly.

From the results announced as of 11pm on Sunday, the PDP secured 283, 549 votes, while the All Progressives Congress candidate, Mr. Odey Ochicha, and his Labour Party counterpart, Mr.Fidelis Ugbo, polled   52, 562 and 35, 848 respectively.

The state returning officer, Prof Comfort Ekpo, said the final result will bee announced as soon as the remaining two LGAs were cleared.
