The former Minister, who spoke to journalists at his campaign office in Kaduna amidst hundreds of his supporters, shortly after he was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, said he could not let the people of the state down with the support given to him.
He said he would govern the state with equity, fairness and justice, adding that under his administration, there would be no discrimination. He added that change had finally come to the state that had been under the Peoples Democratic Party since 1999.
He said his promise to the people of the state is decent governance centred on equity, fairness and justice. El-Rufai said, “God helping me, I will govern the state with equity, fairness and justice. I will equally use the resources of the state to develop it and better the lives of the people of the state.
“In our government, there will be no discrimination of any kind on the basis of religion, ethnicity, settler or indigine; everybody resident in the state will be given equal treatment.”
