The Hausa Movie industry known as Kannywood, is not left behind in the array of felicitations pouring for the winner of the just concluded Nigeria’s presidential election, Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES on behalf of his colleagues, actor and director, Adam Zango, said there was no better time for the industry to congratulate Mr. Buhari than now.
“If I can remember we sat all through Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to witness the announcement of the result,” Mr. Zango said. “It was a historical event for us and the country in general.
“Buhari is a leader of integrity that command respect among the people and we also want to be part of history that is why we are joining everybody to congratulate our new leader.”
Mr. Zango also said that the industry would continue to produce films that will enlighten the society and educate the people on the essence of government and governance.
“Many people are not conversant with what exactly the responsibilities of government are,” he said. “In particular, I am working on some productions that will show what government and governance mean to people.”
Mr. Zango prayed the new government would assist the industry in making sure it triumphed.
“Buhari’s journey to Aso rock is history,” he said, hinting at possible movie depicting the president-elect’s path to eventual victory.
