Aba, the largest commercial town in Abia State came to a standstill on Thursday as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stormed the industrial city for a mega rally in continuation of its governorship campaign across the state.
The party’s governorship candidate in the state, Dr Alex Otti told a large gathering of supporters that part of his plans when elected, is to rebuild the once vibrant industrial city through the provision of appropriate infrastructure that would attract foreign investors.
The campaign team of the governorship candidate received a large ovation from party supporters and residents.
As the team made its way through major roads and streets, people trooped out in large numbers and groups to welcome Dr Otti, just as a large crowd of supporters had already gathered at an open field on Eche road where the rally was held.
Party leaders from Aba north and Aba south Local Government Areas, the State and National level, including the wife of the founder of the party, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu attended the rally.
Dr Otti promised to build infrastructure to revive the obsolete industries in Aba.
