Police Assure Kaduna Residents Of Security During Easter Holiday

CHANNELS TV
The Kaduna Police command has beefed up security across the 23 local government areas of the state ahead of the Easter celebrations.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Umar Shehu, told Channels Television that arrangements had been made to provide water and tight security within the state before, during and after the Easter celebration.
He said that adequate security measures had been put in place to secure all places of worship and other public places.
While warning to deal with any person or group that would want to cause problem during the festive  period, the police boss appealed to residents of the state to be security conscious and report any unusual activity in their neighbourhood to security agencies.
Meanwhile, the residents of Kaduna State are lamenting hike in cost of transportation, food items as well as other commodities needed to mark the Resurrection of Christ.
According to them, the increase in transportation fare was caused by the scarcity of petroleum products which seemed to have paralysed commercial activities in the state.
Some passengers decried that the transport fare to Kaduna to the South East and South South parts of the country had risen to 7,000 Naira from 4000 Naira.
Transporters planning to convey passengers from Kaduna to other parts of Nigeria lament shortage of passengers which they attributed to the harsh economy, even as they called on the Federal Government to urgently address the problem of fuel scarcity to reduce their sufferings.
Presently,  most fuel service stations across the metropolis are still locked up due to the petroleum scarcity, while  there were long queues at petrol stations that opened for business.
