Former Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini believes the Portuguese is a "great manager" and would be a good fit at Old Trafford.
A move to Manchester United would be the logical step for Jose Mourinho, according to former Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini.
Mourinho has been hotly tipped to replace Louis van Gaal this summer and the Italian, who won two Premier League titles and two FA Cup trophies during his 10 years at Stamford Bridge, insists his former boss would be a good fit for United.
“It is a great team and he is a great manager, so why not? But I don’t know if it will ever happen.” Cudicini told Goal.
“I read he would like to stay in England and his family is happy in England so Manchester United is the team that would come to mind straight away.”
Mourinho was sacked just seven months after winning the Premier League title and Cudicini admits the Portuguese was let down by his players who struggled to find their feet in the new season.
“Some players were the best last year and not this,” said the Italian.
“It hasn’t been a great start to the season and you were expecting him to turn the corner but the moment struggled to arrive.
