CHANNELS TV
An ultra-modern engineering laboratory complex has been commissioned at the University of Ibadan to boost research in Nigeria.
The laboratory, which is fully equipped with a robotic laboratory and automation work-space, will boost research efforts in technology development in Nigeria.
It will also aid in providing technical support for training of engineering undergraduates to raise the bar in automation and robotic techniques.
The state of the art laboratory was commissioned by the Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Tuesday.
It is a two-million dollars project which is one of the six technical support units across the geo-political zones of Nigeria.
The laboratory was developed in a partnership programme between the University of Ibadan and Nigeria NLG to reposition technical education in line with the Federal Government’s goal to drive economic diversification with technology.
Some engineering students, who spoke to Channels Television, said it would expose students to global industrial best practices.
