Ahead of the ministerial screening, governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its federal lawmakers had a marathon meeting.
The meeting stretched into the early hours of Tuesday morning, the set day for the screening to begin.
However, the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State and representative of the lawmakers, Leo Ogor, told journalists that the meeting had nothing to do with the screening, but was a strategic meeting in view of current political development.
Mr Mimiko also said that meeting considered issues relating to the governorship elections coming up in Kogi and Bayelsa States.
