About a thousand inhabitants of Adiabo Community in Odukpani Local‎ Government Area of the state have benefitted from the health programme organised by the NYSC Medical and Health Care Group.
The services provided were blood pressure level check, sugar level, malaria checks, de-worming and treatment, as well as the distribution of mosquito nets.
The NYSC group hinted that the free medical services was aimed at providing succor to the less privileged and physically impaired in the area.
The youth corp members chose Adiabo “because it is said to be one of the communities in Calabar that lacks proper health care service”.
One of the volunteers, Alfred Mrakpor, described the effort as life touching and called on other Nigerians to emulate the development.
The women and children in Adiabo community could not hide their excitement on the health programme.
