The Oyo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Adeleye Oyebade, has brokered a peace deal between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in the state, bringing them to a round table discussion.
This is part of efforts to rid Oyo State of incessant clashes in Oke Ogun axis.
After an exhaustive meeting where all stakeholders poured out their minds, far reaching resolutions were adopted to ensure peaceful co-existence in all identified flash points.
Part of the resolutions include the establishment of alternate grazing zones outside farm settlements, government reserves and respect of already set boundaries by all concerned.
The Police Commissioner warned that any infringement would attract dire consequences under the law.
He added that all the 21 leaders, who signed the peace accord, are expected to ensure compliance among their people, or be held responsible for any breach of peace.
