Ministerial Nominee From Imo State Appears Before Senate Committee

Channels Tv
A ministerial nominee from Imo State, Professor Gozie ‎Anwukah, says his nomination is on personal merit and capability and not because he is an in-law to the Imo State Governor.
Professor Anwukah made the remark when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privilege on Wednesday.
The committee is investigating petitions levelled against the ministerial nominee over mismanagement of funds when he was the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University.
Professor Anwukah denied the allegation.
The Committee is expected to submit the report on the petition to the Senate at plenary.
The Senate will resume proceedings on Thursday to continue the screening of ministerial nominees.
On Tuesday, the Senate said it would not hold plenary on Wednesday after it screened two nominees, to enable the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
