Lagos - Some international airlines would soon commence operations from the refurbished Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

Speaking at a Southeast rally for the re-election of Vice President, Namadi President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo confirmed that Turkish and Ethiopian Airlines had agreed to begin international flight from the airport.

Sambo stated that apart from Ethiopian and Turkish Airlines, that other airlines such as America, British and France Airways among others would also commence operation in the airport.

Presently, only a few airlines operate international flights from the newly-renovated airport in Enugu.
