Abuja - The Lagos State Government has denied the allegations its plan to expand the Gaskiya-College and Sari-Iganmu Roads will result in mass demolition of houses within the area.
Residents of Iganmu, Badiya have made the allegations.
The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, allayed the fear of the residents at a stakeholders’ meeting, held at the Ladipo Primary School, Amukoko.

Hamzat added that property owners with the required certified documents by the Ministry of Physical Planning would be compensated.
He also dispelled the rumour that some rich individuals residing in the area have bought their ways with the government thereby influencing the construction of the road project in order to favour them.
The Commissioner noted that the road alignment cannot be skewed to favour anyone and assured that the alignment is determined by the final destination of the road.
He solicited for their support and cooperation to ensure that the project is delivered within the planned 20 months construction period, adding that the Ministry will continue to listen to their complaints and do everything within its power to resolve them.
The road, which is expected to be completed in 20 months, will improve road network and enhance interconnectivity around the area.
