Osun NMA Calls Off Strike

The Nigerian Medical Association Osun State branch has called off its seven-day warning strike and directed all its members return to work.

Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with its members, the Chairman, Dr. Tokunbo Olajumoke says the state government has commenced talks with the NMA hence the decision to put the strike on hold.

Dr. Olajumoke, however, stated that although the doctors have been asked to return to work, there will only be clinical services and no new cases will be admitted.

He expressed optimism that the government will live up to its promise and accede to the demands of the union to avert a breakdown of the health sector.

Meanwhile the premises of the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo still remains deserted owing to the ongoing strike of the JOHESU.
