National Assembly Resumes Plenary After Seven-Week Break

After a seven-week recess, the National Assembly is set to resume plenary.

The Federal lawmakers are expected to consider some critical issues as they resume.

Channels Television gathered that among the issues, which the Senate have lined up to consider in plenary are the issue of flooding in some parts of the country, the inadequate releases in the 2017 budget, and the need to stabilise and sustain the post-recession growth in the economy.

The major motion before the House of Representatives is the need for urgent measures to permanently address floods in venue state.

The presiding officers of both chambers are also expected to give their welcome address which will state their positions on some topical issues and focus for the rest of the year.
