The Wikki Tourists maintained top spot with victory over Ikorodu United, but the goalkeeper believes becoming champion demands a lot.
Emeka Nwabulu has charged his Wikki Tourists teammates to remain focused as the race for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title intensifies.
Wikki defeated Ikorodu United 1-0 at the Onikan Stadium on Sunday via a late goal from Idris Gudu Muhaamed.
The former JUTH FC goalkeeper who is in his third season at Wikki Tourist, stated that the battle has just begun and it's important to stay focused.
"To be a champion demands a lot and part of which is belief, focus, hard work and a little bit of luck. We are up there right now but to stay there we must remain focused," Nwabulu toldGoal.
Having played in 17 league matches this term, Nwabulu declared that he's in a form of his life and hopes to hit his personal target of getting a Super Eagles call up.
"I'm happy with my form so far this season. I've played in seventeen matches and I'm determined to consistently show that both on and off the pitch as I hope that my dream to play for the Super Eagles will become a reality any time soon," he added. The Bauchi team remain top of the NPFL log with 34 points.
