CHANNELS TV

Two factional chairmen of Kwara PDP have been accusing each other of corruption and embezzlement of state funds.
Since the last general election, the Kwara PDP has been engrossed in crisis as the two factional chairmen have been engaging in name calling.
The state factional Chairman, Mr Sunday Fagbemi, who was accompanied by a large number of supporters accused the other factional Chairman, Mr Iyiola Oyedepo while briefing journalists.
He stated that Mr Oyedepo had collected more than 700 million Naira during the last general election which he alleged was mismanaged.
He added that the mismanagement of money could be responsible for why the party failed woefully during the election.
He also stated that efforts had been concluded by Mr Oyedepo’s faction of the PDP to hand over the structure and machinery of the party in the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He urged those he called true members of PDP to resist the plan.
In his response, the other factional chairman, Mr Iyiola Oyedepo described the allegation of misappropriating funds as frivolous and baseless.
Mr Iyiola Oyedepo wondered why his accusers had not reported him to anti-graft agencies if truly they had facts about him.
He also spoke on the issue of planning to secretly hand over the party to APC in the state.

He identified various battles he has been facing to liberate Kwarans and ensure true democracy reigns in the state, compared with his accusers who he described as unpopular politicians.
