Kano APC Suspends Chairman, Organising Secretary

The crisis of interests rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano State appears to be deepening, as the party has suspended its state Chairman, Mr Umar Doguwa, and the Organising Secretary, Sanusi Kwankwaso.

After their suspension, a caretaker Chairman, Mr Abdullahi Abbas, was appointed.
The newly appointed caretaker Chairman led a delegation of other party members from Kano State to the APC’s secretariat in Abuja, where he announced the suspension of the two members to the party’s National Chairman, Mr John Oyegun.
The former chairman and his organising secretary were accused of engaging in anti-party activities in the feud between the incumbent Kano State governor and his predecessor.
Reacting to the dispute, Mr Oyegun said that the crisis should not be allowed to thrive, as the national secretariat had setup a panel of three to resolve the issues.
Earlier, the APC in Kano State had threatened to suspend former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, over allegations of misconduct and political conspiracy to tarnish the image of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The suspended APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, said that Senator Kwankwaso had violated the party’s rules and regulations by allegedly hiring thugs to mock the current Governor, party leaders and members of the State Executive Council during a condolence visit to Ganduje village, the home town of Governor Ganduje who recently lost his mother.
