Malaga’s Francesc Arnau has given his backing to Ikechukwu Uche following his move to the team, insisting the Nigerian needs time to be successful.
Uche joined the Andalusian side on loan from Mexico’s Tigres UANL where injuries tainted his playing chances.
Speaking during the player’s unveiling at La Rosaleda’s pressroom on Tuesday afternoon, the sports director of the La Liga outfit affirmed that the forward’s quality is unquestionable claiming the former Super Eagles’ player will be given time to be at his best.
“Nobody could argue the quality of Uche, we’ll give him time and enjoy what he does.  He passed his medical perfectly and is ready to play,” said Arnau.
Meanwhile, Uche has been handed shirt number 8 vacated by Portuguese midfielder Fábio Espinho.
The former Villarreal man could also be named in Javi Gracia’s side to face Getafe in a Spanish topflight game on Friday.
