Abuja - The Rivers State Government has established a framework to cater for the needs of flood victims.
The Ahoada West and Ogba-Ndoni /Egbema Local Government Areas of the state have been hit by the setback.
The State Government has already taken preliminary measures supplying the first phase of relief material to affected persons in the affected areas.
Government spokesman, Simeon Nwakaudu, said the State Ministry of Special Duties had compiled a list of affected people with the distribution of the relief materials to commence soon.
All the internally displaced persons camps in Ahoada West Local Government Area had been rehabilitated by the administration and were ready to receive displaced persons from the affected communities.
"The administration meticulously revived all the internally displaced persons camps used during the 2012 flood disaster with the boreholes in the camps and generators duly rehabilitated,” Nwakaudu said.
He added that the state government had also taken preliminary measures to mitigate the impact of this year's flooding.
Nwakaudu said the state government would continue to work towards improving the living conditions of those affected by flooding in all parts of the state.
He said the state government is also working with National Emergency Management Agency to ensure more relief material got to the affected persons during the comprehensive distribution of relief material.
