Abuja - Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has charged the newly sworn-in local government caretaker committee chairmen to improve security and environmental sanitation.
He stated this at the Government House, Port Harcourt while swearing in 20 Local Government Council Caretaker Committee Chairmen.
Wike declared that he would dismiss any caretaker committee chairman who failed to achieve the objectives.

"You are not expected to embark on construction work within these three months, improve security in your localities” he added.
The governor added that the caretaker committee chairmen such as Asari Toru and Akuku Toru were not re-appointed because of the heightened insecurity in their local government areas.
He noted that his administration would not tolerate any form of corruption in the management of the local government resources.
"Any caretaker committee chairman involved in corrupt practices will be sanctioned."
