Abuja - Investors from Argentina have indicated interest in investing in Kano’s agricultural sector.
The country’s envoy to Nigeria, Ambassador Gustavo Dzugala, expressed the interest during a visit to the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Dzugala said a team of agronomists and agricultural engineers from the South American country would soon visit the state for assessments.
The envoy said Argentina’s agricultural expertise not only fed the country’s over 40 million people but also provided exports for foreign markets.
Ganduje agreed agriculture was the best option for Nigeria’s economic progress.
He maintained that, being a leading agricultural and commercial centre in Nigeria, Kano would benefit immensely from the proficiency of Argentine agriculturalists.
He said the state requires value addition in its chain of agricultural production, mainly, the chains of groundnut, wheat, cotton, rice and perishable items.
“Relationships with Argentina will be a win - win situation for all,” said Ganduije.
