Pele Now In Stable Condition

Brazilian football legend, Pele’s condition has improved, but he remained in a special care unit at the Sao Paulo hospital where he had been admitted three days ago suffering from a urinary infection.

This is according to a Thursday evening statement from the Sao Paulo hospital.
Thursday night’s release said that Pele was relocated to the intensive care unit because a kidney dialysis machine he needed was in the ICU.
“He is now temporarily on renal support without any additional support,” the statement said.
The 74-year-old’s representative and Pele’s Twitter account dispute that the legend was in ICU, saying he had been moved to a “special care” room with greater privacy.
“I want to take this opportunity to let you know that I am doing fine,” his Twitter feed stated.

Pele underwent surgery for kidney stones on November 13 and appeared in good humour when he was released two days later, opening his window to salute fans who had gathered around the hospital and joking to journalists: “I am ready to play tomorrow.”
