A court in Cairo, capital of Egypt, has dropped a case against former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak concerning his alleged conspiracy to kill protesters during the 2011 uprising against his 30-year administration.

The judgement was received with approval by majority who were present at the hearing as the courtroom erupted in cheers when the judge concluded Mubarak’s retrial by dismissing the charges relating to the deaths of hundreds of people.
Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 for complicity in the deaths of demonstrators and the breakdown of law and order during the 18-day revolt, but an appeals court subsequently ordered a retrial.
