Al-Makura declared state of emergency on education

Nasarawa - The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government (SSG), Zainab Abdulmumin, on Friday said Governor Tanko Al-Makura declared state of emergency on education sector to arrest infrastructural decay in schools.
Abdulmumin said this while inspecting the ongoing construction and renovation work at Government Girls Science School, Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
She explained that the visit was aimed at assessing the level of work done so far and to ensure that quality work was delivered for the overall development of the sector.
The scribe said Governor Tanko Al-Makura is doing his best in improving on the standard of education in the state and the country at large.

"The massive construction and renovation of schools across the state was the state government determination to improve on the standard of education.
"Recently, Governor Al-Makura declared a state of emergency in the education sector in the state in order to arrest infrastructural decay in schools and to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning.
"The level of infrastructural decay in schools across the state called for the prompt government action in ensuring that students learn under a good environment; this is because students cannot learn effectively where infrastructural facilities are lacking.
"I want to commend and say that the declaration on the sector is a good omen not only to the students and teachers, but to the entire state and the country at large.”
According to her, the declaration of state of emergency on the education sector will also improve on the quality of education in the state and the country at large.
Abdulmumin said the state government was committed to executing more people and education oriented policies in order to enhance the lives of people for national development.
She called on the people of the state to support the Al-makura administration to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to all.
Mohammed Wada, the state Commissioner for Works and Housing, also urged the people of the state to guard and maintain public property in their respective areas to ensure their durability.
Wada commended the governor for his efforts in improving the standard of education in the state and called for its sustenance.
The commissioner enjoined Nigerians to embrace peace and tolerate one another in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy in the country.
