Welbeck injury blow for Arsenal

Livescores.com

The England international has made a bright start to the 2017/18 campaign scoring three Premier League goals which included a strike against Leicester City, as well as a brace against Bournemouth.

Nonetheless, the forward, who was injured in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Chelsea is unlikely to return before the international break which takes place next month in October.

As a result, he will seemingly miss league encounters against West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion, as well as a Europa League tie against Belarusian outfit Bate Borisov.

Wenger told reporters, "Danny has a scan today. We don't know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break."

In addition, the 26-year-old is not expected to be fit for England's World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia on 5 October, as well as Lithuania on 8 October. However, he could have a chance of returning on 14 October for the Gunners away trip to Watford.
