Motorists plying the Akoda-gbongan  road ‎are beckoning on the Osun State government to expedite work on the road .
The road project which began in 2013 and had a duration target of 18 months ‎is still on-going, but the state government says it is confident of completing the project and all other on-going road projects in the state.
‎The Gbongan-Akoda-Osogbo road is one of the major roads leading into Osun State, although a federal road, the dualisation of the road was initiated by the former governor of the state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Three years down the line motorists plying the road are worried at the slow pace of the project especially with the rains approaching.
They are calling on the state government to intervene.
However, the Permanent Secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr Nurudeen Adeagbo, says apart from the technicality of the bridge to ensure a proper and lasting job is done, paucity of funds had also been responsible for the slow pace of work at the site.
According to him,7.5 kilometres of the Akoda Abongan road has been asphalted while about nine kilometres of the Adebisi Adeyemi-west by-pass road has been asphalted.
He assured commuters that the state government would complete all on-going road projects across the state.
