Police Kill Six Armed Robbery Suspects In Rivers

Police have killed six suspected armed robbers in Ihuike axis in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State in southern Nigeria.
Confirming the killing, the Rivers State Police Command said the suspects were killed at about 8:45p.m. local time on Saturday.
An official of the command told reporters that the robbers were nabbed while they tried to make away with an 18 passenger bus.
He added that the suspects opened fire when they sighted a police van.
The driver of the bus was said to have lost control and the bus somersaulted while three of the passengers died.
The leader of the gang is one General Igbudu who the Police said had been responsible for the killings in Ahoada community in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria.
The Rivers State Police Command recovered over 37 arms and ammunition in the operation.
