Supporters Of Factional PDP Chairmen Clash At National Secretariat

Supporters of the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee and that of Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff clashed at the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as both groups continue to lay siege at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.

Armed with sticks and clubs, the protesters blocked the entrance of the Wadata Plaza, the complex housing the party’s secretariat.

Trouble began when supporters of Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff attempted to dislodge their counterparts supporting the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee who were already laying siege at the gate of the secretariat.

Meanwhile, neither Senator Ahmed Makarfi, nor his rival, Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff, who the supporters claim to be supporting showed up at the party’s secretariat.
