Abuja - The Kano State Government has pledged to provide land and incentives to encourage foreign investors set manufacturing plants and other infrastructure.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje gave the assurance while receiving the Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Alfonso Sebastian, at the Government House in Kano.
Ganduje added that because of Kano's position as the populous city in Nigeria and strategic commercial centre, it was the best destination for doing business in the country.
He said the present administration in the state did not tolerate corruption.
He disclosed the state government was planning to construct a new abattoir in the state, which he said would provide raw material for leather industries, especially those from Spain.
Sebastian said Spain had one of the world's largest Gross Domestic Product and was potentially rich in renewal energy sources.
He added his country was seeking closer relations with Kano State in the areas of trade, water supply and technology.
He disclosed that a Spanish company is interested in constructing a Photovoltaic Electricity Plant that will produce 100 MW in Kano, at no cost to the government.
