Santiago - Despite running out 4-2 victors over their Mexican counterparts in their semi-final encounter of the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, Golden Eaglets coach Emmanuel Amuneke has described the game as very difficult.
The Nigerians made a strong case for their title defense with a commanding display in what turned out to be a thriller, making it three times in a row they have beaten Mexico at this level, but Amuneke admitted it was difficult for his team.
"It was a difficult match in which both teams did their best," he said in a post-match interview.
"We give credit to Mexico because of their performance and its level of play. We are happy to be in the final and have the chance to defend the world title," Amuneke stated.
The win means the Golden Eaglets will play in the final once again, this time against fellow Africans, Mali. And Amuneke has been speaking about the Malians, stating that they are a good team, adding that he is expecting an interesting challenge.
"Mali is a good team, Africa's champion. This is going to be an interesting challenge," Amuneke added.
