Lalong appoints key officials in new government .

The new governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong, on Monday, appointed eight key officials to his cabinet.
According to a statement by the permanent secretary, Police and General Service, Izam Azi, Mr. Lalong said the appointments were with immediate effect.
Mr. Lalong appointed his election campaign director, Rufus Bature, secretary to the state government.
The All Progressives Congress’ director, youth mobilization during the 2014 elections, Emmanuel Nanle, is the new Director of Press Affairs.
Mr. Nanle was recently sacked by the Jonah Jang administration as a lecturer at the Plateau state Polytechnic, Barkinladi.
The former vice chancellor, Plateau State University, Bokkos, John Wade, who was also sacked by the Jang administration, is the Director General, Research.
The protocol officer during Joshua Dariye’s administration, John Dafa’an, was appointed chief of staff, Government House.
Others appointed on Monday, include Yusuf Hawaja, deputy chief of staff, Government House; Silas Vem, deputy chief of staff, Deputy Governor’s office; Cyril Tsenyil, accountant general and Cletus Kangkum, principal private secretary to the governor.
