Armed robbers shoot 3 Kaduna Electricity Staff

Three staff of the Kaduna Electric company were shot by armed robbers along Birnin-Kaduna road on Monday, the company said.
The incident occurred on Monday when the staff were returning from an official assignment in Birnin Gwari.
“One of them sustained gunshot injury that shattered his arm, the other one was shot around his knee while the third person was shot between his chest and shoulder,” one staff told PREMIUM TIMES.
The Head, Corporate Communications for the company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, while confirming the incident on phone, said preparation had been made to get them treated.
“The victims are already on their way to Nigerian Airforce Base hospital for treatment,” he said.
“We shall issue a statement with details of the incident later,” he added.
The Police Public Relations Office, Zubairu Abubakar, when contacted, said he was not aware of the incident and promised to call back as soon as he concludes his findings.
He later called to say that, “the incident occurred on 18/6/15 along Tsohon Gwari-Funtua road around Birnin Gwari.
“The victims were immediately taken to a hospital in Birnin Gwari where they were later referred to 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna for treatment.
“Our men are still combing the bush to trail the suspects,” the PPRO said.
