Somalia attack: Explosion kills at least 12 people

BBC News
At least 12 people have been killed and several others wounded in an explosion targeting a military vehicle in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu.
Local media reports that the United Arab Emirates ambassador to Somalia narrowly survived the attack.
The Islamist militant group al-Shabab is suspected to be behind the attack, says a BBC correspondent in Mogadishu.
Al-Shabab, an affiliate of al-Qaeda, is battling Somalia's government for control of the country.
On Sunday morning, a suicide car bomber and gunmen attacked a training centre for the national intelligence agency.
The militants have vowed to intensify attacks during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, which began on Wednesday.
