Yobe Government Approves Road Contracts To Mark End Of Year

The Yobe State Executive Council has approved the asphalt overlay of the 50 KM Yunusari-Yusufari road located in the northern part of the state.
The decision was reached at the end of the year executive council meeting held on Wednesday in Damaturu the state capital.
After a meeting of the Council, the state Commissioner of Information, Mr Goni Fika, told reporters that the contract would gulf 1.16 billion Naira.
“The Council has therefore approved to change the scope of the Yunusari to Yusufari road a distance of 50 kilometres, from surface dressing to asphalt wearing course at an additional course of 1,16 billion Naira and that EEC International Limited is to continue the construction with this adjustment,” the statement reads.
The Commissioner said the Council equally approved variation request of 438 million Naira, as tabled by a construction company, RRC Nigeria Limited, for the construction of Bayamari- Yunusari road a distance of 45 Kilometres.

The Commissioner also said the council in session congratulated Mr Dawa Maigari and Mr Ibrahim Umar who were recently appointed and sworn in as Commissioners of Water Resources and Commerce and Tourism respectively.
