Military Repels Attack On Babbangida Village

Security operatives have repelled an attack by militants on Babbangida town in Yobe State Nigeria’s north-east region.
Members of the Boko Haram sect had at about 6:30pm on Saturday laid siege on the town and engaged security operatives in a fierce gun battle.
The militants attacked the military base located north of the town and the police station situated in the southern part as well as the Local Government secretariat, the Government Lodge and the boarding primary school in the area.
The militants had in December 2014 attacked Damaturu, Damagum and Geidam town.

Babbangida town is 50 kilometres north of Damaturu the state capital and has been attacked several times by the sect members.
