Al-Makura Kicks Off Re-election Campaigm After Romoured Death

Governor Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State has returned to kick-start his re-election campaign, after a one week break abroad saw rumours of his death topping discussions among opposition forces.

There was a widespread rumour about whether Al-makura was still alive on various media platforms last week, with some suggesting that the governor was dead, but Mr Al-makura made a grand entry into the state amidst jubilation.

Al-makura’s return to the jubilation of thousands of his supporters, may have sparked a state wide support for the governor as hundreds of PDP members also defected to APC.

Leading the PDP defectors, former governorship aspirant, Senator John Danboyi, received Mr Al-makura in Akwanga on his return to the state on Wednesday.

The reception was the same in Karu local government where he began his work by commissioning the Ta’al Campaign Office. receptions were also held in Keffi and Kokona Local Governments.

In his speech, the governor said the outpouring of love and support for him had further strengthen his resolve to side with the common man instead of the elite class in the state.
