Kwara Security: Gov. Ahmed Vows To Go Hard On Criminals

The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has vowed to make the state unwelcome for those involved in cultism and other nefarious acts by enforcing the anti-cultism law, as amended, to the letter.
The governor made the pledge during the swearing-in of the acting Grand Kadi of Shariah Court of Appeal at the Government House, Ilorin.
According to him, the state government believes that the amended law will also bring an end to cultism in Kwara state as anyone caught in cultist activities will spend 14 years in prison when prosecuted.
Governor Ahmed explained that the laws would work more efficiently if parents, guardians and others members of society keep a closer eye on the youths, ensure vigilance and report any unusual behaviors or movement to security agencies for investigation.
He assured that the administration would continue to prioritize the promotion of the rule of law and enhance access to justice.
Governor Ahmed who commended the cordial relationship existing among all sectors in the administration of justice in the state called for continued partnership in the execution of justice programmes.
