The Anambra State Government is set to immediately commence the exploration of the tourism potentials of the Ogbaukwu Cave and Waterfall in Owerre Ezukala in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Willie Obiano, who was on a fact finding mission to the cave, marveled at the hidden treasures and historical wonders buried untapped in the cave which were capable of placing the community and the state in the world map of tourism.
He announced the immediate construction of the road leading to the cave while other plans for development will be properly articulated for prompt execution.
The Governor made history, as the first Governor to visit the cave descends the stone steps down into the belly of the cave and the gentle breeze of the over fifty feet high waterfall of the cave blows a cool welcome to him and his entourage to the front porch called Obuagu Nta. It is nature at its best.
Governor Willie Obiano after the exploration, signed off at the rock of remembrance, refreshed himself at the waterfall and announced immediate designing of a new road that would lead to the cave alongside other packages of development.
Repositioning tourism, as one of the major sources for foreign exchange with Owerre Ezukala cave, will guarantee sustainable revenue growth for the state with its accompanying job creating opportunities for the youths and unemployed of the host community.
