Rafael Nadal Pulls Out Of French Open

CHANNELS TV

Fourth seed, Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the French Open due to a wrist injury.
The nine-time champion on Friday said that he had to retire from the tournament due to a problem in his wrist.
“It’s not broken, but if I continue to play it will be broken in a few days. This is a very bad position, but that’s life.
“If this was not Roland Garros, I probably would not have taken the risk of playing in the first couple of days,” he told the media.
Nadal’s withdrawal has granted his third round opponent, Marcel Granollers a walkover into the round of 16.

This injury, which makes Nadal a major doubt for the start of Wimbledon, is also a good news for Novak Djokovic who is hoping to win his first French Open title.
