premiumtimesng.com

Good morning and welcome to PREMIUM TIMES’ live updates of the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar, said Wednesday that he would go ahead with the trial until uncertainties over organised labour’s strike are resolved.
Cross-examination of prosecution witness, Michael Wetkas, is continuing today with Paul Usoro, a counsel to Mr. Saraki, doing the questioning.
Mr. Saraki is already at the tribunal with his contingent of lawyers and supporters. Journalists have also returned to the courtroom.
The lead defence counsel, Kanu Agabi, has not arrived, but after due deliberations, the tribunal chairman has said the hearing should be suspended until 12:30 p.m. when Mr. Agabi, who is said to be currently tending to another case in another court, is expected to arrive.
