Ogun Police arrest 2 for armed robbery

The Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers in Ilaro town of Yewa South Local Government of the state,after a robbery operation which left their victim injured.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed this to journalists on Sunday in Abeokuta, said the gang specialized in robbing victims of cars and motorcycles in the area. He said the suspects were arrested on Saturday.
Mr. Adejobi said police officers, responding to a distress call from an anonymous caller from the area, met an injured motorcycle owner whose injuries were inflicted on him by the robbers.
He said the police chased the robbers and arrested two of them – Ramoni Ambali, and Wasiri Ibiyemi. The stolen motorcycle was also recovered, alongside some weapons used by the suspects. The victim was later taken to the hospital, the police spokesperson said, adding that the state police commissioner, Val Ntomchukwu, was determined to rid the state of armed gangs.
“The Police boss has assured the good people of Ogun State, particularly,Yewa area (border areas) of adequate security as the command is conscious of their proximity to the borders, thus making the area(s) prone to car snatching,robbery and the likes,which the command will continue to tackle relentlessly from all angles.”
